About Me

Making the decision to enter therapy can be overwhelming and scary, but it also takes courage. People are often looking to find support and relief when seeking therapy.  As your therapist, I provide a safe and welcoming space to explore your therapy goals with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.

Everyone can and should have fulfilling and satisfying lives, and I would be honored to help you in your journey toward that goal.

Making sense of our situations and learning to better understand ourselves lead to healing. Together we will discover and work to implement what is needed for you to feel stronger, more hopeful, satisfied, and resilient in your life. 

 

I use an individualized approach for each person according to their specific therapy goals and interests.  Sessions typically include any combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, focusing on strengths, emotionally focused therapy and attachment theory.​

Treatment

Specializing in Anxiety Treatment, Depression and Couples Therapy for adult clients (18+)

Anxiety

Having feelings of worry or fear, experiencing unexpected panic spells, living with a sense of apprehension or feeling on edge, difficulty concentrating, and/or experiencing racing thoughts are all symptoms of anxiety.

As we work together, we will safely and comfortably explore how to reduce and eliminate these often distressing experiences.  We will begin the process by understanding where they are coming from and how to make changes to alleviate these symptoms so that life can feel comfortable, peaceful, and normal again.

Depression

Life is difficult.  At times, overwhelming feelings of sadness and discouragement can begin to dominate and coping feels almost impossible.  A sense of failure can pervade, causing isolation, tearfulness, and sleep difficulties.  Depression can disrupt our lives. 

 

I have extensive experience in treating mood disorders and will work closely with you to understand the cause and treatment that would be best for you personally to help you return to a fulfilling and productive life.

Relationships

Life is relationships.  One of the most challenging relationships is the one with a life partner.  I have been trained in  Emotionally Focused Therapy, an intervention based on the scientific study of adult love and bonding processes in couples. It addresses distress in the intimate relationships of adults.

 

Couples seeking counseling to improve their relationships may find this method a beneficial approach, as it can help people better understand both their own emotional responses and those of significant people in their lives.
